Beginning Knitting: (Thursdays, February 7, 21 and 28, 11:00- 12:00) This will be a 3-session class, beginning Thursday, February 7 at 11:00 am. Classes will meet from 11:00 – 12:00 each Thursday for 3 weeks (There will be no class on February 14). This class focuses on the basic techniques needed to get started knitting, including casting on, knit and purl stitches, decreasing stitches, binding off and seaming and will include a beginners-level pattern to finish. $45 for the 3-week class.

Knitting Revisited: (Thursdays, February 7, 21 and 28 from 2:00-2:30pm) For those of you who know how to knit but haven’t done it for a while, this is the class for you. We’ll guide you through the skills you already have, helping you relearn how to do basic stitches and leaving you with the confidence and enthusiasm to start fresh and tackle a new project. This is a one-session class. $20.

Next-Step Knitting: (Thursdays, February 7, 21 and 28 from 5:00-6:00pm) For knitters who are interested in learning new skills and techniques you can use to expand what’s in your knitting project pile, we’re offering a series of classes to introduce you to a new skill each week. Sign up for one session, two or all 3, depending on what you’re interested in learning. The first class (Feb 7) will introduce you to three methods for joining new yarn: The Russian Join, the Modified Russian join and a 3-Stitch join. For this class you’ll need to bring a 6” X 3” swatch, still on the needles.) The second class (Feb 21) will introduce you to Intarsia (This is different from Fair Isle knitting) in which you’ll add in a second color in a heart or skull design, depending on your preference (For this class, bring in a swatch, 25 stitches wide, with approximately 4 rows knitted up in garter stitch). The third week (Feb 28) will go over 3 different seaming techniques: the 3-Needle Bind-Off, Kitchener Stitch and the Mattress Stitch. For this class, you’ll need to bring 6 swatches, each of them 20 stitches wide and 10 rows up. 2 of the swatches should be bound off and the other four should still be on the needles. $25 per session.

Boot-Camp Fridays: (Knitting: Fridays, February 15 and March 1, 5:30-7:00pm/ Crocheting Boot-Camp: Fridays, February 8 and 22) For those of you who can’t make it to our “Crocheting Wednesdays” or “Knitting Thursdays” classes, we’ve put together a boot-camp style intro to knitting and crocheting. You’ll learn the basics of knitting or crocheting and leave with a pattern to work on. This is a great class for beginners as well as knitters or crocheters who are looking to refresh their skills. These are one-session classes. $35 per class.

Project Saturdays: (Saturdays, February 16, 23, March 2 and 9 3:00-4:00pm) We Yarn! And to prove it, we’re wearing our hearts on our sleeves (well, hands, actually) by knitting up these adorable fingerless gloves with a heart on them! They’re made out of a scrumptious wool and alpaca blend This will be a two-session class—February 16 and 23. $25 for the class—materials are included in the class fee except for needles. Please bring a set of US size 8 (5.0mm) straight (or circular if you prefer) with you to the class.
Don’t knit? Don’t worry! We have a lovely, lacy, crocheted scarf to keep you warm. We’ll kick start this project on March 2nd. This will be a two-session class—March 2 and 9. $25 for the class—materials are included in the class fee except for crochet hook. Please bring a size H (5.0mm) crochet hook with you to the class.
